The content on this site is general information about home backup power. It doesn’t replace the manufacturer’s instructions, local electrical and building codes, a licensed electrician or emergency services. Your house, your equipment and your local rules may differ from what a page assumes.
Safety
Follow the safety instructions that came with your equipment. Never run a generator indoors, in a garage or near open windows. Connect a generator or battery to home wiring only through a transfer switch or interlock installed by a licensed electrician. If anything on this site conflicts with your owner’s manual, follow the manual.
Calculators and data
The runtime calculator and the wattage pages give estimates based on published averages. Your appliances will draw more or less, and real runtimes will differ. Check the ratings on your own equipment before you buy.
Accuracy
We work to keep every page correct and cite our sources, but we can’t promise that every figure is complete or current. Specs and prices change, so confirm them with the seller or manufacturer before you buy. If you find an error, please tell us.
Links and purchases
We link to other websites that we don’t control and aren’t responsible for. Anything you buy through a link is between you and the seller, including warranties and returns.

The text, data tables, calculator and design on this site belong to Lights On Labs. You’re welcome to quote short passages or cite our figures with a link to the page. Don’t republish whole pages or copy the wattage data in bulk without asking first.
